These terms apply to your use of Mimic, a language-practice app operated by BrightByte Lab ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Mimic you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Mimic on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial language learning. You may not copy, modify, resell or redistribute the app, or reverse-engineer it except where the law allows.
Videos, captions, titles and thumbnails shown in Mimic come from YouTube and belong to their creators and rights holders. Mimic does not own, host or claim any rights over them; it plays videos in YouTube's own embedded player and uses their captions only so you can practise with them. Your use of YouTube content in Mimic is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. Videos can be removed or changed by YouTube or their owners at any time, and some may have no captions in your language.
Dictionary entries and linked dictionary websites belong to their respective providers.
Translations, dictionary glosses, pronunciation scores and AI Explain answers are generated automatically, by machine translation, speech recognition and an AI model. They are learning aids and can be inaccurate or incomplete; please do not rely on them where accuracy matters.
Please do not use Mimic to break the law or anyone's rights, to download or redistribute video content, to interfere with or overload our services, or to access AI Explain or any other service other than through the app.
Mimic is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular video, caption, translation or feature will be available.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of Mimic, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Mimic in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
We may update these terms when Mimic changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using Mimic after a change, the updated terms apply.
